Use AIx in Cursor
Cursor can talk to any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, so you can drive it with every AIx model — proprietary and open — on a single key and one bill.
Setup
- Open Cursor → Settings → Models.
- Scroll to OpenAI API Key. Turn on “Override OpenAI Base URL.”
- Set the values:
Base URL: https://api.aix.theaimart.co/v1
API Key: tam_your_key_here
- Under Models, add the model ids you want to use (exactly as in the
catalog), e.g.
anthropic/claude-sonnet-4-6,deepseek-ai/DeepSeek-V3.2. - Click Verify. Disable other providers if you want everything routed through AIx.
✦ Recommended coding models
anthropic/claude-sonnet-4-6 (best agentic coding) · deepseek-ai/DeepSeek-V3.2 (great
value) · moonshotai/Kimi-K2.7-Code (coding specialist) · openai/gpt-oss-120b.
▲ Heads up
Menu labels move between Cursor versions — the key idea is the same: an OpenAI base-URL override + your AIx key + custom model ids. Some Cursor agent features are tuned for specific first-party models; chat / inline edits work great with any AIx model.
Why route Cursor through AIx
- One key for Claude + GPT + Gemini + open models — switch without re-configuring.
- Failover: if a provider is down, AIx retries another automatically.
- Spend caps & scoped keys — issue a capped key just for Cursor (see Limits, caps & scopes).
